Swirl’s Valentines Pack Rush
Greetings Illumineers, this is going to be a very exciting opportunity for everyone to participate in. Swirl Cafe & Games is going to be hosting a Valentine’s Pack Rush event on February, 14th, 2025. If you have never participated in Pack Rush it is a format that Ravensburger has created to help players get into Lorcana, but also it is an incredibly fun and fast paced format to play in!
Date: February, 14th, 2025
Time: 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM
Format: We will be doing 2 waves of Pack Rush the first wave will be using a Pack of Into the Inklands as well as a Pack from Ursula’s Return. The second wave of Pack Rush will be using a Pack of Shimmering Skies and a Pack of Azurite Sea.
Each wave will be a best of one format and we will do 3 rounds of Swiss (30 Minute Rounds)
Capacity: Main event will be capped at 24 Illumineers, but if we get more than the expected amount of players we can still provide the opportunity to participate in Pack Rush, it would require players to purchase the packs of their choice to participate in the Pack Rush Format:
What You Will Need:
It will be helpful to participate in the event by bringing some sleeves for your Pack Rush Deck! Each deck you make will be 24 cards, so if you have an extra pack or stack of sleeves lying around use those! It will help to make it easier to shuffle your cards and protect them as well.
In addition it is wise to use lore counters, dice, play mat to assist in your play experience. If you don’t have any that is okay, talk with me and I can let you borrow any for the event.
Big question some people may have, but Jonathan?! What if I pull a REALLY rare card!! Of course totally understandable, if you pull a card and would like to not use that card in your deck you can ask your opponent if it is okay to pause the game state call over your organizer and ask if it is okay to remove the card from the game state and replace with a new card draw (You will be playing with less cards in total once the card has been removed) or we can replace with a proxy (Replacement common card to use in the slot). Now the chances are low, but never zero, so if you pull for example a Snow White Enchanted Rare (Looking at a certain somebody, you know who you are lol) I will make sure it is properly protected and we can continue the game state once the owner is comfortable with the card being properly protected.
